Thank you so much for all those who have signed up already. We have a strong crew attending already and its set to be a one of our best tours yet! For those that are coming we will be sending you the payment method, the hotel details and all the other information including a google doc for kit sizes, on the 31st.

For those who have not yet signed up.. Vietnam Tour is a time honoured tradition of hilarity, fun, hockey and party time, and you will truly be initiated into the Tornados communtity! The tournament supports hockey in Vietnam and teams from all over the world are coming to participate. There are mens, womens and mixed teams and this time we are on artificial grass so even with some rain we can play some decent hockey.

The cost is approximately S$210 and covers all kit, buses, event fees, water, a tab of beer and soft drinks ect (not incl. flight/ hotel) Feel encouraged to bring partners or 'managers' for $85. They get to join in on the fun and receive a supporters shirt and access to the drinks kitty as well as all the tour transport. Just fill out the form and select 'watch' to register.

THC - Roger's Update - 22nd August 2016

Citius. Altius. Fortius.

The olympics was soooo distracting!!! Thank goodness I now get my sleep back, however, I have to admit I have been completely inspired and a little awestruck by the countless amazing acts of sportsmanship, team efforts, talent and all that other stuff that makes up the olympics. Its a bit like the Tornados right? Well at least a few of us.. one at LEAST I know for his sport prowess but not so much his drinking ability which he had on show on super saturday.. all the same...

We bid a sad farewell to a true Tornado this week, with Joo-Seuk Maing (aka Joosie), leaving our shores to Tokyo. Joosie has been with Tornados for around 4 years and in that time, he has captained the men's 1s, winning the Division 1, the Vietnam tournament, as well as leading us to the final of the SCC 6s.  He embodies the Tornado spirit and will be sorely missed, not only for his skills on the pitch but also his German – Korean 'humour', that will be hard, if not impossible to replicate. Go well in Japan Joosie

In other goodbyes the ladies 1s said goodbye to thier top 3 finish being pipped at the post finishing the competition with a loss to SRC in a self declared grand final. Although just shy of thier goals it was definitely a much improved season for the ladies who owe an awful lot to the clever, committed and positive guidance from coach, Sally Bell. The ladies are very grateful for your time and efforts throughout the season and would like to publicly thankyou for your dedication to the game. Of course we also need to thank our #1 fan, manager, rehydrater (if thats a word) and all round voice, Jacque Shorrock. Tornados are also very proud and happy with the ladies 1s players and thier efforts and dedication to thier team. Captains, Sarah and Pip have done well to keep the ladies motivated throughout the season. WELL DONE LADIES ON ANOTHER TORNADOS HOCKEY SEASON.

SO.. hockey...always more hockey.

The Vietnam tour is now a pressing decision! We will be sending off the orders for kit in the following week so you need to sign up this week to ensure your spot.

Roger has been flat out organising and partying all over town. Saturday night he got around the Bungy bar for a few drinks with the departing Tornado - JOOSIE!

LADIES LIGA - Unconfirmed start date.
Ladies LIGA is a go but we need to know how many teams to register. Sign up now or miss out... we warned you. LIGA is a social hit-around with 9-a-side that is played on weekends. There is only one league so you will be mixing between 1's, 2's and 3's. The emphasis is on social and friendly competiveness, if this sounds like you.. then you need to fill this out now....

INDOOR HOCKEY LEAGUE - Starting late Sept to the end of Dec. Played Tues and Thurs nights
Please note that there may be a financial contribution required for this league. The club will hopefully subsidise the majority. All matches, Women's and men's, will be played using the indoor 6-a-side format. Each match is 45 min, 2x 20min halves. Each club is allowed to send MORE than 1 team to participate in the Men's open and Women's open league. Please register your interest; respectfully, please note the time frame of the league and your availability before choosing.
