THC - Match Reports - Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th April 2014

Finally all teams were back in action again this weekend, unfortunately all plans were foiled by the weather and SCC. First up on Saturday were the men and women A teams. The men were disappointed when SCC failed to show; on the plus side this means a 3-0 walkover. The women were up next against Crescent. It was a tough fought match with a last minute penalty equaliser that unfortunately got stopped by the keeper, meaning a final score of 0 - 1. The ladies are struggling to score this season so far but hopefully a chocolate filled Easter will see them right. Sunday saw an epic victory by the men Bs, winning 3-2 against SCC with only 10 men available and Paddy, the keeper, out with injury. Ladies Cs were playing top of the league Jansenites. This was always going to be a tough match, Jansenites providing tough opposition throughout the divisions, and with the game game called off due to lightning with 15 minutes left to play and the scoreline reading 0 - 7, the team decided to not postpone the last few minutes of play. The lightning continued and the ladies Bs match was postponed, The liga was in full force over at Delta in the meantime. Liga C took on St Andrews and brought home a crushing 18-0 victory. (We won't mention that the opposition were about 12 years old... you big bullies). Liga D had a tougher match against Totally Minds, playing their guts out but unfortunately ending up on the wrong side of the 2-1 scoreline. No training or fixtures this week due to the Easter break. THC - Impromptu social- Boomerang Saturday 5th April from 6pm

Hi Tornados

Tomorrow evening the ladies A’s are having a little practice match followed by some video hockey analysis of the Netherlands V Australia World League Final at about 6pm

 

Afterwards until who knows when, the team are going to stay around and be sociable and would like as many other hockey players  join them.

THC - Match Results - Saturday 22nd, Sunday 23rd, and Saturday 30th March 2014

Mens As and Womens Bs and Cs have a few weeks break in the league schedule, so the Mens Bs and Womens As were keeping the action going with their matches against Khalsa and Theresians respectively. The Mens Bs continue to improve on last years results, achieving, as man of the match - Tim said, their best result of the season so far, 1 - 1. Theresians are always a tough opposition for every team throughout the divisions and the Womens As found it no different in their match eventually going down 0 - 1. Liga C and D found it hard work in the 9 a side league, with Liga C losing 2 - 5 to a tough SIA and Liga D eking out a 0 - 0 draw against Balestier Lions. Liga C were in action the following Sunday against SRC suffering a tough 2 - 9 defeat. All SHF league teams on a break this week, but the Liga action continues with Liga C vs JFA and Liga D vs Tannibellies, both on Sunday afternoon at Delta.
