That time of year is fast approaching… touring season!

 

We are pleased to announce that for 2015, Tornados Singapore will be returning to Ho Chi Minh City to take part in the VIETNAM HOCKEY FESTIVAL, Saturday 7th – Sunday 8th November (Fly in Friday 6^th afternoon/evening for Friday night party). Also, with the Singapore Public Holiday on Tuesday 10th November (Deepavali), there is an opportunity to take the Monday 9^th off and make a super long weekend to do some Vietnam sightseeing!

As a rough estimate the costs from last year were $176 SGD for a player and $62 SGD for a supporter. This cost covers tournament entry, beer and soft drink kitty, Saturday dinner and party, playing top, supporter top, socks, visor, transport, and some surprises. Airfares are additional and usually around $150 on Jetstar/Tiger. Hotel room is additional and will be a group booking (twin share room is $100, so $50 per night).

 

Further details and formal registration will be sent out in the next few weeks. Teams will be allocated after registration is complete.

Weekly Update 7th June 2015  BOON LAY DAY 6th June  The RUBIK's Cube themed event was a great success. Lots of hockey (some of it a good standard) and lots of fun. The amazing YELLOW team won. Thanks to Dane for organising everything, to Ross for cooking those lovely sausages, to the captains for making sure the games were played in the right spirit, to all of you for clearing up afterwards and to Veer at Hockey Village for being so accommodating !  Pay up Guys   We did all consume a lot of food and beers which were all particularly excellent. However it seems we didn't collect enough to cover the cost of the beers bought. So if you forgot to pay for all your beers and ciders, please pass on what you owe to Dane, Jacque or Jono. Morning Tornados!! As we're just a few days out here's another reminder of the details for Saturday: Arrival time is 10:30am. Where: Hockey Village, 88 Boon Lay Place, 649883 Food and Drinks will be available pitch side. Beers (Peroni) and Ciders (Magners) will be available for $5 each and food is included in the $20 for the day. Team Captain's have been told who is in which team and should be in contact with you all today,. Don't forget about the bus which is booked to take us all to Bungy Bar after the hockey is done! Hello Tornados! We're about one week out so I'm sure you are all getting very excited for our first Boon Lay event of the year. For those that are still slightly confused what the day is all about, it's basically a fun mixed social 6-a-side intra-club tournament. There are some details to be aware of, below. The rules, timetable and teams are currently being finalized and the captains of each team will get in touch shortly with more specifics. Is there a theme? Yes! Rubik's Cube. Each team will come dressed head to toe in one colour and after each game swap one player with the opposite team to ensure you have a Rubik's Cube coloured team by the end of the day. Your captain's will fill you in on more specifics on the day. Is there a charge? Yes, please bring $20 and hand it to your captain. What time are things happening? Get there by 10.30am as we need to start at 11am sharp and the last game will end at 4pm. Will there be food? Yes! Lunch will be served and is included in the $20 already. We'll be a having a BBQ pitch side as well as some salads to feast on. Can I buy drinks? Beer (not Pure Blonde!) and Ciders will be available from the eski's at $4 per drink. Where is it? Hockey Village, 83 Boon Lay Place Is there anywhere to go after? ABSOLUTELY!! We've arranged a 50 seater bus to take everyone to Bungy Bar at 5pm which we have hired out for the evening. We also have drink specials arranged so make sure you don't miss out! Enjoy the long weekend! Cheers
