RESULTS
The Mens 3's take out last weekends best team for Tornados; winning 4-0 to the Eagles in the lead up to what seems to be a promising league season ahead.
Ladies 1's played up against a challenging Crescent hockey club, and challenges were many. An early goal for Tornados deflected into the back of the net by Aiofe got the game started, what ensued was frustrating hockey. Even with majority of possesion the ladies were unable to capitalise conceding two goals against them in short lapses of concentration. The frustration hit peak levels when a goal was disallowed for interesting reasons. A scrambled second goal at some point levelled the scores and stayed that way until the final whistle. A huge thanks to Dave Hogg for stepping in to coach over the weekend.
The ladies 2's were impressive in thier defiance against the Singapore National team. The ladies never gave up with an impressive performance from Ruthie Burr in goals saving multitudes of goals against a fit, young, skillful team. Arguably its ridiculous that a team like that should be allowed to play in the second league but it did give the ever optimistic ladies great defensive practice.
Mens 1's got 15 minutes into a game before heading back home.
Mens 2's missed the storm but created thier own on the pitch with 6 cards to Tornados, a broken Riggers and a frustrating draw. With suspensions looming and injuries to boot the Men will suffer over the double header this weekend.
