On the Pitch
We have been playing League since March and Liga since Feb. Some weekends the club has fielded 7 teams (4 mens and 3 ladies), a record for the club. Results have been mixed for all teams and we have had some close, high quality matches. Most of the league teams are about half way through their matches so still lots to play for. Check out your teams league standings at- http ://groupspaces . com/TornadosHockeyClub/
Some teams have struggled to field a full squad at times, and the men's Bs have managed to win two games with only 10 men (including one without a keeper). The ladies' Cs; a new team, with players new to hockey, have had tough opposition, sometimes without a full squad or GK but have continued to play with real courage and have a great attitude.
Match Reports: Check out the blog match reports on www . tornadoshockey . org . sg. Make sure your team submits one each week. See Lizzie if you need help.
Man of the Match: Winners will be given a Boomerang voucher. Captains contact Suz to get your team's quota.
Training: A temporary change of location from Delta to Sengkang has been frustrating. It is more hassle to get to and we have seen a drop off in attendance. However the pitch is better at Sengkang and the coaching brilliant! We are soon back at Delta - Men in June and Ladies in July. Be assured if we can get to Delta sooner, we will.
Looking Forward: More hockey for all teams
The men's and ladies 1 and 2 leagues continue to mid-July, Liga finishes in June.
The men's leagues 3, 4 and 5 start in August and the Ladies Liga is expected to start August/ September. We are looking to organise a friendly league for division 1 and 2 men's teams from August - so we all get year round hockey if we want it.
Training continues all year. Keep an eye out for the weekly update and teamsnap for changes to location or day.
Off the Pitch
Socials
The social side at Tornados is very important too. This is evident by the number of socials where members organise an activity and invite all club members, whether it's a BBQ housewarming, leaving drinks, birthday karaoke etc…This really reflects the spirit of the club and builds even greater team spirit. Make sure you join our Facebook group if you want to know what is going on socially in the club.cebook - https://www . facebook . com/groups/TornadosHockeyClub
We have had several club run socials so far this year including a Sausage Fest at the Boomerang and the SCC Sixes, along with many pitch side socials. Some teams have held team socials - keep doing these. If your team wants to organise a team social at Boomerang contact Suz to see what she can do to help.
More of the above is planned and "other" partying has been dreamt up by Team Booze (Boobs & Suz).

Playing Kit
There have been issues with the orders of playing kit (shirts etc) this year with the consequence being that the first order will be delivered at the end of June. There was an update sent out last week, any queries please contact Patrick.
The new sponsorship deals are for 3 years and so we will be keeping the same kit for at least 3 years and we expect everyone to be playing in the new style kit by next season.
For those who have not yet ordered please do so ASAP.
See online form:
https://docs . google . com/forms/d/1hnXo-5EQyxme57YsSwvcdkuc5Yf-j9fc6sAaNcmb-Kg/viewform to order.
And payment link: http ://groupspaces . com/TornadosHockeyClub/public/pay/bill/8807/2014-tornados-game-kit-fee/ to pay.
Hockey Equipment
All teams have been issued with their own set of balls, bibs, cones, face masks, a first aid kit and Cool Box (Esky). We will have spent $6000 on equipment this year a big club investment. The captains and team are responsible for this equipment and its replacement; other than for wear and tear. Can all members make sure we don't leave Tornados equipment at pitches, bars, taxis, etc. If you find another team's equipment at the pitch (or in a bar/taxi) please let Patrick know and he'll help return it to its rightful owner.
Other club matters
Finance: We are looking financially stable this year thanks to the close scrutiny of Roch and the excellent sponsorship deals we have. This will only continue if everyone pays their membership and we don't lose equipment.
Membership: At last count we are slightly up on last years numbers but we would really like more members so please spread the word about Tornados and encourage people to join.
Website: We need help with our website. It currently has minimal information and is not very enticing to prospective new members or useful to existing members. If any one has expertise and the time to help get the current website usable please contact Boobs. We are also looking at alternative websites so any views and ideas- contact Boobs.
We want you help: If you want to get more actively involved with the club; coaching, managing a team, helping with socials, writing a newsletter or anything else please contact anyone on the committee. We are all busy people so any offer of help will be appreciated and taken up.
We want your views: If there are any issues/ ideas you want to raise with the committee please contact Sophie or me. These can be submitted in writing or if you want to discuss them at the committee meeting in person that is also good.
Thank you!
Tornados is a fantastic club due to all of you! Thank you for being a part of Tornados and supporting all that we strive to achieve. Look forward to seeing you on the pitch, cheering on one of our teams or at a Club Social, sometime soon
Jacque
Tornados Club President
On behalf of the Tornados committee
